"Galicianus Peregrinus" is inspired by live and work of acclaimed Spanish film director Luis Bunuel, particularly his involvement with Surrealists and later works inspired by it. It postulates to musically capture and channel quixotic playfulness and facetiousness of Bunuel's films and their elusive aura. We shall, within the process, attempt to achieve that by exploring an intersection between post-modern atonal language, polyphonic improvisation, extended instrumental and vocal technics, aleatorism, idiosyncratic scoring technics, and use of live-performed electronics as the intertwining element. The goal musically is to achieve a symbiosis between all the creative aspects in the process of channelling of different elements throughout the composition, but in a rather unpredictably humorous, and sometimes absurd way. Since the composition involves extensive improvisations, and use of aleatoric technic it allows for varied performance scenarios, and experimentation with open form/interpolation of silence, audience involvement etc. The work as a whole will be adaptable to different acoustically spaces and its sonoristic qualities will depend upon it structurally.

"...He is a unique musical voice oscillating between textural/polyphonic improvisations and a hellbent, not so “reconciled”, on the verge of musical sarcasm and slapstick humor piano music a la Victor Borge with an edge of Conlon Nancarrow..."
